In the midst of a suffering market, prestigious brands are not affected by the crisis. Get back to the latest news.
Sometimes just pronouncing the name of a legend is enough to excite all enthusiasts. It was the week of August 15, a period when automotive news has traditionally stopped altogether. One name has been Countach to arouse supercar enthusiasts all over the world. Order forms are piling up behind the scenes as the Italian manufacturer unveils a new version of its legendary car.
Countach, winning comeback
What better way to celebrate the Countach’s 50th anniversary than a new Countach? Equipped with a V12 engine and 48V mild hybridization, the vehicle develops 814 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds. But above all, it covers the lines of the legendary supercar of the 70s with some success. Also, do you want to drive at 355 km/h behind the wheel?
Sold before being offered
Know that we are talking about a price of around three million euros here. One guess is that the brand didn’t report the race car’s list price. It’s a small detail that doesn’t hurt the success of the Countach 2021 version. Indeed, you had to react faster if you wanted to. 112 copies have already found all buyers. As is often the case with very limited series of this type, cars were reserved by loyal customers of the brand even before the model even appeared.
a new Ferrari
We do not allow ourselves to be influenced by Italian rival Ferrari. For the last two years, annual production has been increased to meet the ever-increasing demand.
Developing 663 horsepower for a displacement of 2992 cm3 or 221 hp/liter, an achievement that should also concern the brand’s latest creation, the 296 GTB, is a value never seen in a production engine.
But an electric motor that will increase the total power to 830 hp. On the price side, don’t expect anything under €300,000 for this “entry-level” model from Ferrari without options.
Ford pays homage to Le Mans GT40
The main competitor on the tracks and behind the scenes of Ferrari in the 1960s was the American and its name was Ford. To celebrate this blessed era, Ford is presenting the 2022 Ford GT ’64 Prototype Heritage Edition.
It has a tribute decoration as well as various special elements such as custom 20-inch wheels and special carbon elements such as diffusers, sills or ventilation grilles.
A limited series that pays homage to the first historic GT40 prototypes. It will not have problems in sales like its competitors. At the launch of the GT, Ford had to make a selection from the buyers on file ahead of the number of potential buyers.
