
To pay tribute to his historic hat-trick at Le Mans in 1966
Ford is making a strong comeback in 2022. As Ford pays homage to the grand launch of the original Ford GT40 prototype at the 1964 New York Auto Show, it is unveiling the 2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Edition of its latest 2022 Heritage Edition. To the GT40 MK II, which performed well in the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours, taking the top 3 places. “Among all the Ford GT Heritage Edition looks we’ve produced, the unique gold and red theme of the Holman Moody Heritage Edition is an epic homage to our 1966 Le Mans hat-trick, said Mike Severson, Ford GT program manager.
The Ford GT 2022 has a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifter and a carbon fiber body. The ultra-limited edition Holman Moody Edition GT supercar will be on display at the 2022 New York International Auto Show alongside the Holman Moody Ford GT40 MK II, chassis #P/1016. The unique gold and red finish of the limited-edition supercar includes iconic #5 round wheels in Oxford White on the doors, hood and rear fender, all matching the look of the 1966 Ford GT40 driven by Holman Moody.
Exposed glossy carbon fiber components are evident, including 20-inch wheels, front spoiler, side sills, mirrors, engine vents and rear diffuser. Black lacquered Brembo® brake calipers with silver graphics and black lug nuts are also inviting. Carbon fiber will also appear throughout the cabin, in the door sills and in the center console, and will even feature a matte No. 5 round frame on the door panels. The ebony Alcantara® carbon fiber seats feature gold stitching, while the seat cushions and headrests feature an embossed GT logo. The ebony instrument panel is trimmed with leather and Alcantara, while the pillars and headlining are specially adorned with Alcantara.
Gold accents on the instrument panel, door panel surrounds and seat X-brace are paired with matte carbon fiber in the door sills, lower A-pillars and console. Steering wheel trims are in Ebony Alcantara with black stitching, while dual-clutch paddle shifters are in Holman Moody Gold to match the exterior.

The Ford GT Heritage Edition series celebrates the supercar’s defining moments in motorsport history, including its victories at Le Mans. The brand includes a total of nine ultra-limited edition supercars in the series, two of which are still in production. This includes Ford GT Alan Mann Heritage Edition 2022 (currently in production), Ford GT ’64 Prototype Heritage Edition (currently in production), Ford GT ’66 Daytona Heritage Edition 2021 (50 units only), Ford GT ’69 Gulf Livery Heritage Edition . 2021 (only 50 examples produced), Ford GT ’68 Gulf Livery Heritage Edition 2019 (only 50 examples produced), Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition 2018 (only 39 examples produced), Ford GT ’66 Heritage Edition 2017 (only 27 examples produced) ) ). Note that the 2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition is available to authorized Ford GT customers with first deliveries this spring.
