In Germany, Mercedes-Benz has delivered the first production eActros to transport and logistics companies DB Schenker and Dächser. The keys were handed over by Mercedes-Benz Trucks CEO Karin Rådström at an official ceremony at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Wörth-am-Rhein, where the vehicles were assembled.

Karin Rådström, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, handed over the keys of the first production eActros to Cyrille Bonjean, President and Vice President of Road Transport Europe at DB Schenker, and Wolfgang Janda, Vice President of Management Network and Line Transport. At DB Schenker.
Pallet distribution in the city
DB Schenker and Dächser are among customers selected by Mercedes who were able to test and participate in the final development of a prototype of the eActros before its launch in June 2021. The two vehicles will thus integrate their own fleets and carry out pallet distribution tasks in the regions of Leipzig (for DB Schenker) and Stuttgart.

Stefan Hohm, President of Dächser Development and Member of the Board of Directors, and Karin Rådström, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
in the program Dächser Emission Free Delivery , Dächser’s new eActros, together with the 7.5 t Fuso eCanter, will be delivered to customers in Stuttgart city centre. It will be responsible for transporting palletized shipments that are too large and too heavy for shipping in single parcels to a logistics micro centre. These will then be processed on site and distributed to the last mile by electric-assisted cargo bikes. Charging will only be done with green electricity at the Dächser agency in Kornwestheim.
eActros is an important part of our city distribution concept, which we are currently expanding to eleven European metropolitan areas.says Stefan Hohm, Dächser Board Member and Head of Development. It has proven its usefulness on a daily basis in Stuttgart since 2019. We also see some potential in service traffic.”.
Leasing + federal subsidies
Both eActros are made available by the Mercedes-Benz Bank Group through ServiceLeasing and benefit from financial support from the “Climate Friendly Commercial Vehicles” program of the German Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV). BMDV has an envelope of 10.77 million Euros for this purpose.
Thanks to these subsidies, Mercedes-Benz Bank Group is able to offer its German customers attractive rental prices. This offer is limited to federal approval and valid until funds run out, but is valid for orders placed no later than March 23, 2022 and delivered by December 23, 2022. For now, it is not yet known whether the German manufacturer will also be present. We offer similar offers in France.

The Mercedes eActros can carry three (eActros 300) or four battery packs (eActros 400), each with an installed power of 112 kWh and a usable capacity of approximately 97 kWh. Equipped with four battery packs, the eActros 400 can travel up to 400 kilometers.
