Limited to a single copy reserved for a wealthy clientele, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire is clearly a work of art. While it has yet to be delivered to its owner, the hypercar introduced in 2019 is now the inspiration for a collection Bugatti has made with British jewelery manufacturer Asprey.
Together, the two brands will produce a single sculpture bearing the image of La Voiture Noire. The work will be produced entirely by hand for four months using “the most valuable materials”. The figurine will indeed be made of 24-carat rose gold and mounted on a “bespoke” artisanal pedestal in the colors Bugatti and Asprey. It is accompanied by an NFT certificate to certify the authenticity of the work. It is associated with a QR code and a “unique serial identifier”.

Another 261 sculptures will be produced to ensure the wider distribution of the collaboration. 261, with reference to La Voiture Noire’s top speed in miles (420 km/h). They will be smaller, made of silver and will also be associated with an NFT certificate. Bugatti says future owners will be able to log into a website to “follow the production process of their sculptures by Asprey’s master craftsmen.” Wiebke Ståhl, Managing Director of Bugatti International, explains what cooperation means:
From the sadly lost Type 57 SC Atlantic to the contemporary La Voiture Noire, all of Bugatti’s creations are designed to evoke emotion as works of automotive art, even if they are not driven. This exclusive partnership will allow Bugatti customers and enthusiasts to appreciate our design values in a new way.

The collection, resulting from the partnership between Bugatti and Asprey, will be available on a specific website in March 2022. Prices are unknown at the time of this writing. It is already possible to request access to participate in the sale. Two questions – optional in theory – still ask you whether you are a Bugatti customer or an Asprey customer. We think that not having made any purchases from two brands reduces the chance of getting an invitation.
