“Bugatti Sur Mesure” – this is the name of the official customization program launched in response to the growing demand for personalized Bugattis. The first official bespoke design was inspired by Bugatti’s Grand Prix achievements.
This program builds on the brand’s remarkable history of bodywork, handmade interiors, paint and embroidery. It brings together the joint expertise of its seasoned designers and engineers to create a brand new program that meets growing customer demand for ultra-custom designs, materials and finishes.
Thanks to this official program, the Bugatti Sur Mesure team will accompany them, thanks to the numerous possibilities offered to customers. When configuring a Bugatti, the number of exterior colors and leather trims is virtually limitless, but those who want to take things a step further and create an absolutely unique piece of automotive art can turn to the Bugatti Sur program. From the initial design to the final handover and production of the vehicle, customers will have a great experience.
Over the past few years, Bugatti has proven its ability to customize its hyper sports cars to a higher level than ever before. In 2013, the Veyron “Legends of Bugatti” series set new standards by offering six special editions in honor of the brand’s heroes, each utilizing unique exterior and interior finishes.
2019 sees the arrival of the Chiron “Zebra 1 of 1”, a special order for a customer in Qatar. Featuring a sophisticated color scheme of Titanic Blue and Gunpower Gray, the hyper sports car was hand-painted by Bugatti’s skilled craftsmen – a task that took more than three weeks to complete.
In 2021, the now famous Divo “Lady Bug” embodied Bugatti’s ability to customize hyper sports cars in an exceedingly complex way. It took 18 months to develop a highly complex algorithmic and geometric-dynamic fading model for the Divo body, which shows how Bugatti continues to push the boundaries to bring customers’ dreams to life.
an inspiration
Today, Bugatti Sur Mesure introduces its first customer project, a Chiron Pur Sport inspired by the achievements of famous 20th century racing driver Louis Chiron. The Bugatti legend continues to excite customers and passionate Bugatti enthusiasts around the world. The early motor racing pioneers who drove Bugatti prototypes are still admired today and admired for their courage and skill on the track. Their living spirits today are the very source of the bespoke design of this unique Chiron Pur Sport.
Amongst the numerous races that Louis Chiron has won behind the wheel of a Bugatti, mention is made of his legendary victory in the 1931 French Grand Prix with Achille Varzi in the #32 Bugatti Type 51.
Today, this completely hand-painted number proudly adorns Bugatti’s modern hyper sports car: one of the bespoke items developed especially for this customer. Two new exterior colors have been created to pay tribute to the legendary Bugattis that competed in the Grands Prix in the 1920s and 1930s.
The Bugatti Sur Mesure program team has also developed a new ‘EB’ fade pattern, which is painstakingly hand-painted and embellished with an ‘EB’ pattern sewn into the door panels in several layers. In both cases, the Bugatti Sur Mesure team needed to develop innovative techniques and processes.
The ’32’ and ‘Grand Prix’ motifs are repeated throughout the cabin, particularly on the center console, in an inlay of black anodized aluminum, decorated with silver hand-painted lettering. They even extend to door sills, headrests and sill lights. Other hidden markings make this model a rare and unique product of the program.
